Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from the mixed race family of South London in England. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mother is English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She was a student of acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She appeared in many performances on stage during her time at school, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her career as an actress with the film Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Then, she appeared in Elisha on the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie in six episodes each in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. The ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was a star in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in theatre include Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her official US debut on the drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. In late May 2013, it was announced that Madekwe who had been a series regular in the two previous seasons, would be leaving the show following a guest appearance in the premier episode of the season's new episode. She played Tituba in the series Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe married her long-time partner, Iddo. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he is also a part of the cast in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress is a member of a big family in Hamilton, Ontario. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty together with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's family, which is all athletes, play in the summer months and play hockey during winter. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She would dance. So when she was two and a half, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer after this. Ashley continued to compete throughout high school with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and more. Ashley was awarded the best soloist at each of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
